4Xlounge X Trend Trading System

Our X Trend Trading System was developed by accident. We were trying to improve our Power Bars performance and we stumbled upon what we now know as “X Trend”. Many of the X Trend and Power Bars components are similar. However, there are major differences in the way that each system finds trades. The short version of (what could be) a very long explanation is that X Trend is more conservative than our Power Bars System. Our X Trend System provides more conservative entries, but generally allows for larger targets. You won’t find as many trade with X Trend as compared to our Power Bars, but the net result is about the same. Basically, if you want to trade less and make more per trade, then X Trend is for you.

Our Live Web Charts has 3 different X Trend time frames or intervals. These intervals include; 30 minute, 1 hour and 4 hour. Each time frame has been optimized for swing trading. X Trend is optimized to capture a large percentage of each price move relative to the associated time frame. As mentioned above; you will trade less, but make more per trade. Here is a quick look at each time frame and its relative trading specialization.

30 minute – This time frame is designed to help traders find the quickest possible entry on swing trades. You should always start with the 30 minute and then work you way up in time interval.
1 hour – This time frame is designed to provide a secondary option to our 30 minute time frame. If the market is too messy for the 30 minute entry, you can use the 1 hour as a second option for entry.
4 hour – This time frame has a variety of uses. You can use the 4 hour time frame to find longer term swing trades or use it as confirmation of the longer term trend. You can also use the 4 hour time frame to hold your trade for larger profits. A quick example: if you enter on the 30 minute or 1 hour, then while holding your trade, the 4 hour confirms the trade, you can change your target to a 4 hour (much larger) target.

Our X Trend Trading system is designed for swing traders. If you prefer to scalp, day trade or position trade, our Power Bars is a better option. Our X Trend and Power Bars are very similar, but X Trend was specifically designed for swing traders. Our Power Bars cover a wider range of trading styles.

Our X Trend trading system is made up of 4 basic components. These components work together to filter out and find the best possible trade in each time frame. All 4 components are dependent on each other and tied together, but provide independent analysis. It is kind of like having 4 umpires at a sporting event. All 4 umpires are watching the same game, but each umpire has a different ‘view’ of the surrounding field. Unlike sporting events, all 4 umpires or components must agree before a call is made or in this case; an alert is sent. This way, only the very best trades are identified and entered.

Our X Trend algorithm uses both fundamental (order flow) and technical data to find trade setups. This blending of data gives X Trend an advantage over most other trading systems.

The X Trend trading system alerts the trader with an arrow when a possible trade is setting up. The arrow is generate when a set of criteria has been met. You do not have to do anything until you see an arrow appear on the chart. The X Trend arrow alert makes it easy to scan the Live Web Charts for new trades that are setting up. The arrow also includes a price label for more accurate reference.

X Trend RSI

At the bottom of every X Trend chart is our 4Xlounge RSI. We call it an RSI to make it easier to understand. Most traders are familiar with RSI indicator. Our 4Xlounge RSI uses a slightly difference formula than a standard RSI. The basic idea; green confirms a trend to the upside (long) and red confirms a trend to the downside (short). Bright green or red indicate that the current trend is over extended and likely to consolidate.

X Trend Pivot Line

The solid blue line that looks like a Moving Average is actually our 4Xlounge composite pivot line. We average 4 different price pivot formulas, add some order flow data and then run everything through an MA formula. The basic idea; if the price is above the pivot line, there is an upward (long) trend bias, if the price is below the pivot line, there is a downward (short) bias.

We also added weekly support and resistance lines to identify key price levels. The solid green line is the previous weeks high and the solid red line is the previous weeks low.

X Trend Candles

The X Trend candles are a combination of more than 7 different indicators and custom data tools. The basic idea is the same as all of the other tools; green = long and red = short. However, since the candles have several indicators running at once, you can end up with a combination of different colors. The combination of colors provides even more market and trend analysis. Solid red or solid green candles indicate the very best trend conditions.
